Accounting offers a single undergraduate degree program leading to the Bachelor of Science with a major in accounting. Students completing the undergraduate degree program in accounting are qualified for a wealth of accounting, finance, and management related positions with professional services firms, manufacturing firms, and with governmental and not-for-profit organizations. Students desiring to obtain the CPA certificate in states requiring 150 hours of education are encouraged to pursue the Master of Science in management degree program with a systems concentration. Students pursuing this option may structure their program to meet the education requirements to sit for the CPA Examination and to become certified in most jurisdictions.

The objectives of the Business Administration Department are:
- Provide fundamental knowledge concerning the related fields in business administration by emphasizing the tools essential for problem solving and decision making.
- Develop competencies necessary for accomplishing managerial goals.
Degree Programs
The Department of Business Administration offers a four year program leading to a B.S. degree in MIS Concentration, Finance, Management, or Marketing. The department is one of the four departments in the School of Business and Economics. All undergraduate programs are nationally accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction afforded to only one fifth of the business schools in the nation. Students majoring in business administration acquire the essential tools for solving problems and making management decisions in all areas of business.
The Department of Business Administration also offers a Masters of Science in Management (MSM) with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Human Resources Management.
Career Paths of Business Administration Majors
Our graduates are currently performing with distinction in a wide variety of business careers. Many have chosen lucrative positions with major corporations and government agencies. Others have earned M.A., M.S.,M.B.A.,D.B.A., and Ph.D. degrees from prestigious graduate schools such as MIT, Harvard University, Michigan, and Indiana University. Other alumni of the department have graduated from nationally recognized law schools.
