Army HBCU/MI Program Rated Best in DoD
The Army Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI) program was recently recognized as the Best HBCU/MI Program in DoD for fiscal year 2002. Mr. Frank Ramos, Director DoD OSADBU presented the HBCU/MI award to Ms Tracey L. Pinson on July 21, 2003 during the 2003 DoD Small Business Training Conference. The Army has consistently exceeded the 5% goal for HBCU/MI program funding under Ms Pinson’s stewardship. The HBCU/MI Program enjoys wide spread support among the senior Army leadership, contracting and small business program mangers, who continually identifying research, development and training opportunities for all minority colleges and universities. In FY 2002, Army awarded $92M in contracts and grants to HBCU/MI institutions, which represents 6.2% of all funds allocated to Institutions of Higher Education.
